Research for Professionals

This course equips students with research skills that can be applied across a variety of professional contexts. Students will first choose a topic that is professionally relevant to them and will explore this topic through a process of inquiry and strategic exploration. They will learn how to locate, evaluate, and synthesize different relevant source types into written and presented works. Additionally, students will analyze different research methodologies, create effective surveys, understand and apply ethical standards, and communicate research findings through written and verbal communication. The course culminates with a written research project that is directed toward a relevant audience and a presentation that conveys key insights from their research.
