Bio

Linda Sanders is a scholar-practitioner of literary studies and performance studies. Throughout her career, Linda has developed and directed storytelling and theatre productions and programs, as well as original performance work for the stage and screen. She has designed interdisciplinary curricula and developed programs in the fields of communication, creativity studies, education, and the literary and performing arts for colleges and universities, public school districts, private academies, and major arts institutions throughout the United States.

Education

Linda holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Denver, an M.Ed. in English from Boston University, and B.A. in Theater Arts from Brandeis University. In addition, Linda studied French language and culture through Vanderbilt University in Aix-en-Provence, France; and mime and theatre movement at the Ecole Jacques Lecoq de Mime in Paris, France.

Teaching Philosophy

Since the 2017 winter quarter, it has been Linda’s privilege to teach the talented and hardworking students at DU’s College of Professional Studies. She has developed courses for the Professional Creative Writing Program and the Bachelor of Arts Completion Program at the College. As a three-time Faculty Career Champion nominee, Linda’s dedication to educating her students extends beyond the classroom. Her continuing primary purpose is to develop integrated student learning opportunities through academic contexts, real-world applications, and meaning-making processes.
