Organizational Leadership

Rolfe Larson’s leadership experience includes 30 years as a manager and consultant for entrepreneurial organizations in the private and nonprofit sectors. His experience includes multi-year engagements with Minnesota Public Radio, The Nature Conservancy, Public Media Company, the Denver Children’s Museum, Naropa University, the University of St. Thomas, and the University of Denver. His award-winning book on business planning, finance, and social enterprise, Venture Forth! — endorsed by the late Paul Newman of Newman’s Own — has been used in numerous college courses.

Consulting Experience

Rolfe’s consulting experience includes leading strategic and business planning projects and training for dozens of social enterprises, nonprofits, and government agencies throughout the US and also in Canada. His professional work involves providing both strategic and financial perspectives to organizations, primarily focusing on growth, entrepreneurship, diversification, and sustainability.

Education

Rolfe earned a B.A. in Linguistics and Psychology from Swarthmore College, an MBA from the Yale School of Management, and an M.A. from the Yale School of the Environment. He also earned a Certificate in Authentic Leadership from Naropa University.

Personal Perspective

Rolfe’s personal involvement in civic engagement includes numerous activities and campaigns that began as an activist teenager many decades ago. Areas of focus have included the environment, anti-war, anti-racism, and voting rights. As an educator, Rolfe is passionate about learning experiences that connect people and ideas in ways that help all of us learn to live and work better together.
