Bio

Gregory James Smith joined the faculty of the College of Professional Studies as an instructor in the graduate Healthcare Management program in 2013. He also has taught courses including law, bioethics and social justice topics at Loyola’s School of Law, Loyola’s Stritch School of Medicine, the University of Colorado Denver (UCD), Regis University, the College of Osteopathic Medicine of Rocky Vista University and the Medical College of Wisconsin. Gregory continues to be active in Cherry Creek Legal Consulting, his independent health care law practice in Denver, Colorado. He served on the board of directors of Continuing Legal Education in Colorado for more than twenty years and currently serves as the treasurer for the board of directors of the Colorado Health Care Ethics Forum.

Gregory concentrates his law practice in business matters for the health care professions. He serves as the General Counsel for the Colorado Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association and acts as counsel for the Home Care and Hospice Association of Colorado. He also acts as counsel for health care provider networks, physical therapists, physicians, dentists, nurses, chiropractors and other health care professionals and their professional organizations, as well as for home health, home care and rehabilitation agencies and for medical, technology and service enterprises.

Gregory holds a B.A. from the Colorado College, an M.H. from the University of Colorado, an M.A. and DBE from Loyola University Chicago, and a J.D. from Cornell Law School.
